MELBOURNE — Whether taking the top seven spots was expected or not, the Holy Trinity boys were favored not only for Thursday’s Class 1A, District 12 cross country meet but for a state title as well.

The girls face a different storyline. They also have been among the state’s most powerful girls programs for years, but they have a tougher task to win it all in 1A.

Both won district championships on their own campus on Thursday. The boys were 57 points better than runner-up International Community, while the Brevard Heat were third.
